It's hard to believe that I haven't posted in a month (!), but I do have a good excuse. I was away for a week in Florida (chilly) and I start a new job tomorrow, so I have been exceptionally busy with the preparations for that job plus training my replacement at the old one.
I hope that the new job will allow me more time for baking and cooking, but I am certain that the first few weeks will be hectic as I learn new systems and people.
Please forgive my absence, but you can check out my article in today's Charleston Gazette-Mail on plum tarts. The photo turned out better than I thought it would and the tarts were ravenously devoured by husband's coworkers.
I'm sure you will be more forgiving about my absence than my cats. They were a bit upset about us leaving for Florida, so one of them decided to not let me read my book:
And just to let you know that I have been doing at least something in the kitchen, I leave you with a shot of homemade croutons. Sometimes I make bread just to make croutons - they are so much butter than anything in a bag (even if you start with store-bought bread).
